Brief Standoff in West Spokane Ends Peacefully After Domestic Violence Suspect Taken into Custody

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane police arrested Sergio Orduno-Gallegos, 31, on September 2, 2025, after a standoff at an apartment where he violated a No Contact Order linked to a domestic violence incident. Officers responded to reports of an assault, with the female victim leaving to seek medical treatment. Upon their arrival, police discovered that Gallegos was inside the apartment, possibly with two small children. Due to the children’s safety concerns, a significant police response included SWAT and Hostage Negotiators. Officers attempted to contact Gallegos without success initially but later confirmed that no children were present.

After establishing communication, Gallegos surrendered peacefully around 12:30 p. m. He now faces charges for a felony violation of the No Contact Order and two counts of 2nd Degree Assault - Domestic Violence. Domestic violence remains a critical issue, prompting local resources like the YWCA Domestic Violence Helpline to offer support.
