Brief Standoff in West Spokane Ends Peacefully After Domestic Violence Suspect Taken into Custody

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane police arrested Sergio Orduno-Gallegos on September 2, 2025, after a standoff at his West Spokane apartment involving a domestic violence case. Officers responded to a report of an assault where the female victim sought medical treatment. Upon arrival, they found a No Contact Order in place that barred Gallegos from contacting the victim, leading to probable cause for his arrest on charges of violating the order and two counts of 2nd Degree Assault. Concern for two small children initially reported to be with Gallegos prompted the deployment of SWAT and Hostage Negotiators to the scene. After police confirmed that the children were not in the apartment, HNT successfully established communication with Gallegos.

He surrendered peacefully to officers at 12:30 PM. Gallegos was subsequently booked into the Spokane County Jail for his violations. Domestic violence remains a critical issue, with local resources available for victims seeking help.
