Rockwood Blvd. Construction Near Hospital

Spokane, WALocal News

Construction on Rockwood Boulevard near Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center will start on September 2, necessitating street closures and reduced on-street parking. The project aims to rehabilitate the pavement, redesign the intersections at Cowley Street and 10th Avenue, and replace outdated water main pipes. Additionally, the sewer system and brick catch basins will undergo repairs. Traffic will be condensed on Rockwood Boulevard, with metered parking unavailable on both Rockwood and 9th Avenue between Grand Boulevard and Cowley Street. North/south traffic will remain open at the Sumner Avenue/10th Avenue intersection, while east/west traffic on Sumner Avenue/10th Avenue will be closed.

Sidewalk detours for pedestrians may occur, but local access will be maintained throughout the construction. Officials urge drivers to slow down for safety and support local businesses impacted by the work. The project is expected to conclude by mid-October.
