Brief Standoff in West Spokane Ends Peacefully After Domestic Violence Suspect Taken into Custody

Spokane, WALocal News

On September 2, 2025, Spokane police arrested Sergio Orduno-Gallegos for violating a No Contact Order and two counts of second-degree domestic violence following a standoff at an apartment on West Elliott Drive. Officers responded to reports of an assault, where the female victim had left to seek medical treatment. Upon arrival, police learned of the existing No Contact Order prohibiting Gallegos from contacting the victim. Concern for the welfare of two small children led to the deployment of multiple specialty units including SWAT and Hostage Negotiators. Officers confirmed that no children were inside the apartment with Gallegos, allowing for a peaceful resolution.

After establishing communication, Gallegos surrendered to police at 12:30 p. m. and was subsequently taken into custody. He faces charges for felony violation of the No Contact Order and domestic violence-related offenses. Domestic violence remains a critical issue, with resources available for victims through local helplines.
