Age of Elegance Reimagined Showcases Local Furnishers to Raise Funds for Historic Preservation of D.C. Corbin Mansion, September 6-20

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane voters will decide in November on a Parks & Recreation levy that could fund the preservation of the historic D. C. Corbin House, now operating as the Corbin Art Center. The center will host the “Age of Elegance Reimagined” event from September 6 to 20, showcasing fine home furnishings from local businesses and offering guided tours led by interior designer Cindy Blue-Blanton. Admission is priced at $10, with all proceeds contributing to the restoration of the mansion’s front veranda.

Should the levy be approved, it will allocate maintenance funds for the Corbin House, which has served as an art center for over 50 years, providing affordable fine arts and crafts programs. The event will allow visitors to purchase displayed furniture and enjoy multiple guided tour options. The D. C. Corbin House, designed by architect Kirtland K.

Cutter, was gifted to the city by Corbin's widow in the 1940s, marking a significant part of Spokane's history. The center’s programs focus on fostering cognitive and creative growth among participants of all ages. Those wishing to support the preservation efforts can donate through the Spokane Parks Foundation website.
