Officers responded to a report of an assault at an apartment on West Elliott Drive, where the victim had left to seek medical treatment. Upon arrival, police learned that Gallegos was inside the apartment, raising concerns about two small children potentially being with him. The situation escalated, prompting a response from multiple specialty units, including SWAT and hostage negotiators.
