Rockwood Blvd. Construction Near Hospital

Spokane, WALocal News

Construction on Rockwood Boulevard near Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center begins September 2, requiring street closures and reduced parking. The project aims to rehabilitate the pavement while redesigning the intersection of Rockwood Boulevard, Cowley Street, and 10th Avenue. Utility work will involve replacing outdated water mains and repairing sections of sewer and catch basins. North/south traffic will flow at the Sumner Avenue and 10th Avenue intersection, but Sumner Avenue will close for through traffic. On 9th Avenue, one lane will remain open for healthcare employee parking.

Metered parking will not be available on both Rockwood Boulevard and 9th Avenue during construction. Pedestrian sidewalk detours may occur, but local access will be preserved. Residents are urged to slow down and support local businesses impacted by the project, which is scheduled for completion by mid-October.
