Construction work will commence on Rockwood Boulevard on September 2, affecting traffic and parking in the vicinity of Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. The project aims to rehabilitate the pavement through a grind and overlay, redesign the intersection of Rockwood Blvd. and Cowley St. , and conduct essential utility upgrades, including replacing outdated water mains. Rockwood Blvd.

will be condensed, with closures on Sumner Ave. and 10th Ave. for east/west traffic. One lane will remain open on 9th Ave. for access to the healthcare employee parking garage.

Metered parking will not be available on either Rockwood Blvd. or 9th Ave. between Grand Blvd. and Cowley St. Pedestrian traffic may face detours due to the construction, but local access will be preserved.

City officials urge drivers to slow down and support impacted businesses during this necessary work. The project is anticipated to be completed by mid-October.
