Brief Standoff in West Spokane Ends Peacefully After Domestic Violence Suspect Taken into Custody

Spokane police responded to an assault report on September 2, 2025, at an apartment on West Elliott Drive, where the victim had left to seek medical aid. Officers discovered that the male suspect, 31-year-old Sergio Orduno-Gallegos, was prohibited from contacting the victim due to a No Contact Order. As officers arrived, they learned he might be inside the apartment with two small children, prompting the deployment of multiple specialty units, including SWAT and Hostage Negotiators. Initially, officers were unable to reach Gallegos, but they later confirmed that no children were present in the apartment. After a period of communication, Gallegos surrendered without incident at 12:30 p.
