Rockwood Blvd. Construction Near Hospital

Construction on Rockwood Boulevard begins Tuesday, Sept. 2, requiring street closures and reduced on-street parking near Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. The project will rehabilitate the pavement with a grind and overlay, redesign the intersection at Rockwood Blvd. and Cowley St. , and perform utility upgrades, including replacing outdated water main pipes and repairing sewer sections.

East-west traffic will be restricted on Sumner Ave. /10th Ave. between Grand Blvd. and Sherman St. , while 9th Ave.

will accommodate one lane in each direction for healthcare employee parking. No metered parking will be available on Rockwood Blvd. and 9th Ave. between Grand Blvd. and Cowley St.

Pedestrians may experience detours, but local access remains available. The construction is expected to finish by mid-October. For safety, drivers are urged to slow down and support impacted businesses. Current obstruction information can be found on the city’s construction webpage.
