Brief Standoff in West Spokane Ends Peacefully After Domestic Violence Suspect Taken into Custody

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane police arrested Sergio Orduno-Gallegos on September 2, 2025, for violating a No Contact Order and two counts of domestic violence assault. Responding to an assault report at his apartment, officers learned that the female victim had left for medical treatment. Concern for two small children possibly present led to the deployment of SWAT and Hostage Negotiators at the scene. After initial communication attempts failed, Gallegos eventually surrendered peacefully at 12:30 p. m.

He now faces serious charges, including a felony domestic violence violation. This standoff reflects the broader issue of domestic violence in the community and emphasizes the importance of law enforcement protocols in such cases. Victims of domestic violence are urged to seek help through dedicated hotlines, such as the YWCA Domestic Violence Helpline. Addressing domestic violence remains a significant priority for local authorities and community organizations.
