Rockwood Blvd. Construction Near Hospital

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane's Rockwood Boulevard will undergo construction starting Tuesday, Sept. 2, necessitating street closures and reduced parking near Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. The project includes pavement rehabilitation, intersection redesign at Rockwood Blvd. and Cowley St. , and upgrades to outdated water main pipes and sewer infrastructure.

Traffic patterns will change, with Sumner Ave. /10th Ave. closed for east/west traffic and one lane open on 9th Ave. for healthcare employee parking. On-street metered parking will not be available on both Rockwood Blvd.

and 9th Ave. between Grand Blvd. and Cowley St. The project is expected to finish by mid-October, allowing for maintained local access and potential sidewalk detours. Residents and visitors should slow down during construction and support local businesses affected by the work.

For current obstruction information, the city has provided a construction webpage. This project reflects ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure in Spokane.
