Man Rescued in House Fire, Rushed to Hospital in Critical Condition

Firefighters responded to a house fire at 804 South Sherman Street in Spokane, where they encountered flames spreading from the first floor to the attic. Dispatchers informed them of a high probability that an adult male resident was trapped inside the two-story duplex. Upon arrival, firefighters confirmed the fire's extent and began a search while attacking the flames. They rescued an unconscious adult male less than four minutes after their arrival, who was then transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center in critical condition. The fire was controlled within 20 minutes, and the incident was upgraded to a second alarm due to its severity.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with damage described as extensive, rendering the duplex uninhabitable. Firefighters will remain on-site for several hours to ensure all hotspots are fully extinguished. No additional injuries were reported during the incident.
