Rockwood Blvd. Construction Near Hospital

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane will begin construction on Rockwood Boulevard near Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center on September 2, necessitating street closures and restricted parking. The project includes a grind and overlay of the pavement, intersection redesign, and utility upgrades, such as replacing water main pipes and repairing sewer systems. North/south traffic will flow at the Sumner Ave. / 10th Ave. intersection, while east/west traffic will face closures.

Additionally, on-street metered parking is suspended on 9th Ave. and Rockwood Blvd. between Grand Blvd. and Cowley St. Sidewalk detours may affect pedestrians, but local access remains available for residents and businesses.

The construction aims to enhance infrastructure and is expected to conclude by mid-October. Officials urge drivers to slow down for safety and to support local businesses during the disruption. Current obstruction information is accessible on the city's construction webpage.
