Rockwood Blvd. Construction Near Hospital

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane will close Rockwood Boulevard for construction starting Tuesday, Sept. 2, to rehabilitate pavement and redesign the intersection with Cowley Street and 10th Avenue. The project includes essential utility work, such as replacing outdated water mains and repairing sections of the sewer system, which are critical for maintaining public infrastructure. Traffic will be condensed in the area, with north/south access at the Sumner Avenue and 10th Avenue intersection. East/west traffic on Sumner Avenue and 10th Avenue will be closed between Grand Boulevard and Sherman Street, affecting local commuters.

Pedestrian access may also be affected, with sidewalk detours in place to ensure safety. No on-street metered parking will be available on 9th Avenue and Rockwood Boulevard between Grand Boulevard and Cowley Street. Local access will remain open to support businesses during the construction period. The project aims to enhance infrastructure and is expected to be completed by mid-October.
