Robbery Suspect Taken into Custody Minutes After Committing the Crime

A robbery occurred on August 22, 2025, at a business located at 1000 W Summit Parkway, where a male suspect threatened an employee with a firearm. Although no weapon was visible, the employee quickly contacted 911 after the suspect fled. Officers arrived promptly, using the description from the initial caller to locate Jerry G. Allen Jr. at Cedar and Broadway just eight minutes after the incident.

He was detained without issue, and additional witnesses were interviewed during the investigation. The stolen items were successfully recovered, and Allen, 38, was arrested and booked into Spokane County Jail. He faces charges of 1st Degree Robbery and 3rd Degree Theft. This case underscores the importance of quick police action in addressing local crime. Such incidents can have lasting impacts on community safety and perceptions of crime in the area.
