Rockwood Blvd. Construction Near Hospital

Construction on Rockwood Boulevard will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 2, requiring significant street closures and reduced parking near Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. The project will rehabilitate the pavement through a grind and overlay while redesigning intersections at Rockwood Blvd. and Cowley St. and 10th Ave.

Additionally, utility work will replace outdated water main pipes and repair sections of the sewer and brick catch basins. During construction, on-street metered parking will be unavailable on 9th Ave. and Rockwood Blvd. Local access will remain open, although pedestrians may face sidewalk detours. Traffic will be condensed, with north/south access at the Sumner Ave.

/10th Ave. intersection. The city urges drivers to slow down and support local businesses affected by the construction. The project is expected to conclude by mid-October.
