Rockwood Blvd. Construction Near Hospital

Spokane, WALocal News

Starting Tuesday, Sept. 2, construction on Rockwood Boulevard will require street closures and reduced parking near Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. The project includes pavement rehabilitation, intersection redesign, and updates to outdated water mains and sewer systems. Motorists should prepare for lane reductions and closed streets, particularly on Sumner Ave. and 10th Ave.

No metered parking will be available on 9th Ave. and Rockwood Blvd. between Grand Blvd. and Cowley St. Pedestrian detours are likely, although local access will remain open.

The city emphasizes the importance of safety during this necessary work and encourages support for impacted businesses. This infrastructure project is expected to enhance traffic safety and utility reliability in the area. Completion is anticipated by mid-October.
