Man Rescued in House Fire, Rushed to Hospital in Critical Condition

At 10:39 a. m. , Spokane firefighters were dispatched to a report of a house fire at 804 South Sherman Street, where flames were visible from the front of a two-story duplex. Dispatchers alerted them to a potential victim trapped inside, prompting a rapid response. Engine 1 arrived four minutes later and confirmed flames spreading to the second story and attic.

Firefighters conducted a search and found an unconscious adult male, quickly extracting him through a window within four minutes of their arrival. He was rushed to Sacred Heart Medical Center in critical condition, while the fire was brought under control in 20 minutes. The extensive damage rendered the structure uninhabitable, and no additional injuries were reported. Firefighters will remain on scene to ensure all hotspots are extinguished. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
