A robbery occurred on August 22, 2025, at approximately 1:54 PM in a business on W Summit Parkway, where an employee confronted a male suspect. The suspect threatened the employee by claiming he had a firearm, but no weapon was seen during the incident. The employee quickly called 911 after the suspect fled, enabling officers to respond rapidly. Within eight minutes of the initial call, officers detained Jerry G. Allen Jr.

at Cedar and Broadway based on a description provided by witnesses. The investigation confirmed Allen's involvement, leading to his arrest, and the stolen items were successfully recovered. Allen faces serious charges, including 1st Degree Robbery and 3rd Degree Theft. Such incidents highlight ongoing concerns regarding crime in local businesses. The swift police response underscores the importance of community vigilance and cooperation in addressing crime.
