Rockwood Blvd. Construction Near Hospital

Construction on Rockwood Boulevard begins Tuesday, Sept. 2, requiring street closures and limited parking near Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. The project will rehabilitate the pavement and redesign the intersection at Rockwood Boulevard and Cowley Street, along with necessary utility upgrades, including replacing outdated water main pipes and repairing a section of the sewer. Traffic will be condensed on Rockwood Boulevard, while access will remain available for local vehicles. Sumner Avenue and 10th Avenue will close for east/west traffic, and 9th Avenue will operate with one lane in each direction for healthcare employee parking.

No metered parking will be available on both Rockwood Boulevard and 9th Avenue between Grand Boulevard and Cowley Street. Sidewalk detours may affect pedestrians, and the project is expected to be completed by mid-October. Local businesses impacted by the construction are encouraged to receive community support.
