Rockwood Blvd. Construction Near Hospital

Construction work on Rockwood Boulevard will commence on Tuesday, September 2, affecting traffic patterns near Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. The project includes a grind and overlay of the pavement, utility upgrades, and the redesign of the intersection at Rockwood Blvd. and Cowley St. North/south traffic will be maintained at the Sumner Ave. /10th Ave.

intersection, while Sumner Ave. /10th Ave. will close to east/west through traffic. Additionally, 9th Ave. will operate with one lane in each direction for healthcare employee access.

The project will also replace outdated water main pipes and repair sewer sections and brick catch basins. No metered parking will be available on 9th Ave. and Rockwood Blvd. during construction. Pedestrians should expect sidewalk detours, and local access will be maintained.

The city encourages motorists to prioritize safety and support local businesses during this necessary work, expected to conclude in mid-October.
