Robbery Suspect Taken into Custody Minutes After Committing the Crime

On August 22, 2025, a robbery at a business on W Summit Parkway escalated when an employee confronted a suspect who threatened him by stating he had a gun. Although no weapon was seen, the employee quickly called 911 after the suspect fled. Officers responded rapidly, locating Jerry G. Allen Jr. at Cedar and Broadway within eight minutes of the initial call.

He was detained without issue, and the stolen items were recovered during the investigation. Allen, age 38, was arrested and booked into Spokane County Jail for 1st Degree Robbery and 3rd Degree Theft. This case highlights the effectiveness of immediate reporting in enhancing police response times. Spokane Police remind the public to report suspicious activities promptly to ensure community safety.
