Construction Project Will Impact W. Maxwell Starting Monday

W. Maxwell Ave. will close from August 25 to September 19 for traffic signal upgrades as part of the Maxwell Pettet to Walnut Bike/Pedestrian project. This project aims to enhance bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, including new sidewalks, bike lanes, and crosswalk improvements. The upgrades will better connect the West Central Neighborhood with AM Cannon Park and the Centennial Trail.

Motorists should prepare for detours: eastbound traffic on Pettet Dr. will be rerouted at Belt St. to Indiana St. , while westbound traffic on W. Maxwell Ave.

will be redirected at Monroe St. Local access will be maintained during non-working hours. The project is funded by the Washington State Pedestrian/Bike Program and the Washington Climate Commitment Act.
