Man Rescued in House Fire, Rushed to Hospital in Critical Condition

Spokane firefighters were dispatched to a house fire at 804 South Sherman Street at 10:39 a. m. on Monday, where they found flames engulfing the structure. Upon arrival, they confirmed significant fire damage extending from the first floor to the attic. Firefighters conducted a search and rescued an unconscious adult male, upgrading the incident to a second alarm shortly after.

The victim was transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center in critical condition. The fire was under control within 20 minutes, but extensive damage left the duplex uninhabitable. Firefighters remained on the scene to extinguish hotspots and prevent rekindling. The Spokane Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire, with no additional injuries reported. This incident highlights the urgency of fire safety measures in residential areas.
