Spokane police arrested 45-year-old Troy A. Silk on August 22 for three counts of second-degree arson. Silk allegedly set fires that caused considerable damage to properties in the downtown corridor, specifically in the 400 block of West Main, 400 block of West Riverside, and 300 block of West Spokane Falls Boulevard. Patrol officers diligently collected evidence and identified Silk as a person of interest shortly after the incidents. Major Crimes Unit Detectives secured video footage from surrounding businesses that confirmed his involvement.

At the time of his arrest, Silk was already in custody at Spokane County Jail for unrelated crimes, emphasizing the challenges law enforcement faces with repeat offenders.
