Flags Lowered for Spokane County Sergeant Kenneth Salas

Mayor Lisa Brown ordered flags at City facilities to be lowered to half-staff in honor of Spokane County Sergeant Kenneth Salas, who tragically lost his life while assisting with a traffic hazard on Interstate 90. "We are deeply saddened by the loss of Sergeant Salas, who was killed while serving our community," Mayor Brown stated. The flags will remain at half-staff through Wednesday, and residents with flags are encouraged to join in this gesture of remembrance. A memorial service will be held at the Spokane Convention Center on August 20 at 1 p. m.

The City of Spokane extends its deepest sympathies to Sgt. Salas's family, friends, and colleagues with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.
