Millions Awarded to Affordable Housing Projects Across Spokane

The funding originates from HEART Funds, 1406 Affordable Housing Development Funds, HOME Affordable Housing Development Funds, and HOME-ARP TBRA Funds. Among the projects, four new construction initiatives will produce 95 mixed-income units, specifically targeting low-income households. Two rehabilitation projects will maintain 50 existing affordable units and create 49 additional units for families earning up to 80% of the Area Median Income.

A new homeownership project will introduce 12 single-family townhomes, ensuring affordability for lower-income buyers. The funding also includes specific allocations for services aimed at vulnerable populations, supporting 86 households. Mayor Brown highlighted the strategic importance of distributing these funds to maximize community impact.
