Man Rescued in House Fire, Rushed to Hospital in Critical Condition

Firefighters responded to a house fire at 804 South Sherman Street at 10:39 a. m. on August 25, 2025. Dispatchers indicated a high probability of an adult male trapped inside the duplex. Engine 1 arrived four minutes later and confirmed flames extending from the first floor to the second story and attic.

Firefighters quickly located the unconscious man and rescued him in under four minutes, subsequently upgrading the incident to a second alarm. He was rushed to Sacred Heart Medical Center in critical condition, while firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control within 20 minutes. The extensive damage has left the structure uninhabitable, and the cause of the fire is under investigation. Firefighters remained on scene to extinguish hotspots. No additional injuries were reported during the incident.
