Downtown Arson Suspect in Custody

Spokane police arrested Troy A. Silk, 45, on August 22 for three counts of second-degree arson connected to a series of fires in downtown Spokane. The fires occurred in the early hours of August 21, damaging properties in the 400 block of West Main, West Riverside, and the 300 block of West Spokane Falls Boulevard. Patrol officers worked to secure evidence and identified Silk as a person of interest. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit obtained video footage from surrounding businesses, leading to Silk's arrest.

He was already in custody at Spokane County Jail for unrelated crimes when charged with arson. The Spokane Fire Department continues to investigate the incidents, emphasizing the importance of community vigilance against arson.
