Robbery Suspect Taken into Custody Minutes After Committing the Crime

On August 22, 2025, a robbery at a business on W Summit Parkway in Spokane escalated when the suspect threatened an employee with a firearm. Although no gun was visible, the employee acted quickly, contacting 911 after the suspect fled the scene. Within eight minutes, officers located a potential suspect, Jerry G. Allen Jr. , at Cedar and Broadway.

He was detained without resistance, and the stolen merchandise was recovered. Allen faces serious charges, including 1st Degree Robbery and 3rd Degree Theft, and has been booked into Spokane County Jail. This incident underscores the importance of immediate reporting and police responsiveness in crime situations. Spokane police encourage community members to report suspicious activities to prevent crime.
