Spokane's $7. 5 million funding for affordable housing projects marks a significant investment in community development. The funds derive from HEART, 1406 Affordable Housing Development, HOME, and HOME-ARP TBRA sources. Among the projects, new construction will yield 95 mixed-income units, directly aiding households earning 60% Area Median Income or less. Rehabilitation efforts will preserve 50 affordable units and create an additional 49 units for those earning 80% AMI.

A new homeownership project will introduce 12 townhomes, with six designated for low-income buyers. Mayor Brown highlighted the importance of these funds in fostering community stability and opportunity.
