Flags Lowered for Spokane County Sergeant Kenneth Salas

Spokane Mayor Lisa Brown ordered flags at all City facilities to be lowered to half-staff in remembrance of Sergeant Kenneth Salas, who tragically lost his life while assisting with a traffic hazard on Interstate 90. “We are deeply saddened by the loss of Sergeant Salas, who was killed while serving our community,” Mayor Brown expressed, extending condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues at the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office. The flags will remain lowered through Wednesday, and the City encourages residents to show solidarity by lowering their own flags. A memorial service is set for Wednesday, August 20, at 1 p. m.

at the Spokane Convention Center, allowing the community to gather in honor of Sgt. Salas. This act of remembrance highlights the dangers faced by law enforcement while serving the community.
