Robbery Suspect Taken into Custody Minutes After Committing the Crime

On August 22, 2025, a robbery at a business on W Summit Parkway escalated when the suspect threatened an employee with a firearm. The employee immediately reported the incident to 911 after the suspect fled. Officers quickly responded to the scene, using the description provided by the caller to locate Jerry G. Allen Jr. at Cedar and Broadway just eight minutes after the initial call.

Allen, 38, was detained without issue, and the stolen items were successfully recovered. He was then arrested and booked into Spokane County Jail for 1st Degree Robbery and 3rd Degree Theft. This case underscores the importance of rapid police response in ensuring public safety. Spokane Police continue to encourage residents to report suspicious activities to help prevent crime.
