Flags Lowered for Spokane County Sergeant Kenneth Salas

Mayor Brown expressed deep sadness over Salas's death, acknowledging his service to the community. The City of Spokane extends heartfelt sympathies to the family, friends, and colleagues of Sergeant Salas, who served with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office. Flags will remain at half-staff through Wednesday, August 20, to honor his memory. The City encourages residents to participate in this tribute by lowering their flags as well.

A memorial service honoring Sergeant Salas will take place on August 20 at 1 p. m. at the Spokane Convention Center. This event highlights the risks law enforcement officers face while serving the community. The recognition of Salas's sacrifice aims to foster a sense of unity and support for those who serve.
