Spokane Police respond to stabbing incident, one dead and another injured

Spokane Police arrested Colin L. Pedro, 20, for 2nd Degree Assault and 2nd Degree Murder following a stabbing incident on August 7, 2025. One victim succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital, while the surviving victim, in a dating relationship with Pedro, received substantial injuries but is expected to recover. Officers quickly responded to the scene after reports of a fight near the Post Street Bridge. During the response, Pedro was found threatening suicide, prompting the deployment of SWAT and negotiation teams.

After nearly four hours, police managed to deescalate the situation and take Pedro into custody.
