The Spokane Police Department warns of temporary road closures on August 20 in anticipation of Sergeant Ken Salas' memorial service. Southbound traffic on Division at Sharp will close, diverting vehicles to Monroe or Hamilton. Additionally, Washington from Boone to Spokane Falls Boulevard will be closed, with traffic rerouted west towards Monroe. Significant intersections, including Washington and North River Drive, will close for several hours, and northbound traffic on Division and Riverside will be restricted until approximately 12:30 p. m.

Community members are urged to plan ahead and allow extra travel time in light of these changes. Emergency services can be reached at 911, while mental health crisis assistance is available by calling 988.
