Spokane Police respond to fatal stabbing, one arrested

Colin L. Pedro, 20, has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder and Assault following a stabbing incident in Spokane on August 7, 2025. Police received reports of a fight near Spokane Falls Blvd and found one individual threatening suicide on the Post Street Bridge while another was severely injured. One victim later succumbed to injuries at a hospital, while the other is stable and recovering. Investigators revealed that the surviving victim was in a dating relationship with Pedro, although the relationship with the homicide victim remains unclear.

The Spokane Police Department, committed to addressing violent crime, urges anyone with information or video of the incident to contact them. Numerous police resources, including SWAT and the Major Crimes Unit, were deployed to manage the situation. The department reassured the public that there is no ongoing threat to community safety.
