Spokane Police respond to stabbing downtown, one dead and another injured

Spokane Police arrested Colin L. Pedro, 20, for second-degree murder and assault following a stabbing incident that left one individual dead on August 7, 2025. Officers responded to reports of a fight near the 800 block of West Spokane Falls Blvd, where one victim died after being transported to a hospital. The other victim, in a dating relationship with Pedro, is recovering from substantial injuries. Authorities deployed multiple resources, including SWAT and a hostage negotiation team, to manage the situation on the Post Street Bridge.

After nearly four hours, officers safely took Pedro into custody without further incident.
