Spokane Police respond to stabbing incident, one victim deceased

Spokane Police arrested Colin L. Pedro, 20, for 2nd Degree Assault and 2nd Degree Murder following a stabbing in downtown Spokane on August 7, 2025. Officers arrived at the scene after reports of a fight in the 800 block of West Spokane Falls Blvd, where one male was found threatening suicide on the Post Street Bridge and another male was discovered with critical injuries. Tragically, one victim succumbed to his injuries at an area hospital, while the other, who was in a dating relationship with Pedro, is recovering. Multiple police resources, including SWAT and the Hostage Negotiation Team, were deployed to manage the situation on the bridge.
