One killed, another injured in stabbing incident in Spokane

Spokane Police arrested Colin L. Pedro, 20, after a stabbing incident on August 7, 2025, resulting in one fatality and another serious injury. Pedro is charged with 2nd Degree Assault (Domestic Violence) and 2nd Degree Murder. The surviving victim, who was in a dating relationship with Pedro, was hospitalized and is expected to recover. Officers quickly intervened when they found a man on the Post Street Bridge threatening suicide during the altercation.

A significant police presence, including SWAT and the Hostage Negotiation Team, was deployed to manage the situation. The Major Crimes Unit is actively investigating the incident, and authorities are unclear about the relationship between Pedro and the deceased victim.
