Spokane Police responded to a stabbing downtown this evening. Preliminary information indicates two people were injured during this incident. Unfortunately, one of them succumbed to their injuries after being transported to the hospital.

Spokane Police arrested Colin L. Pedro, 20, for 2nd Degree Murder and multiple assault charges following a stabbing incident on August 7, 2025. Officers quickly responded to reports of a fight near the 800 block of West Spokane Falls Blvd, where they found one individual threatening suicide on the Post Street Bridge. One victim died from injuries sustained during the altercation, while another is stable after receiving medical treatment. Pedro was taken into custody after a nearly four-hour standoff involving various police units.

The Major Crimes Unit is investigating the incident, which has left the community shaken. Police confirmed that the surviving victim had a dating relationship with Pedro, but the relationship between Pedro and the deceased victim remains unclear.
