Spokane Police responded to a stabbing downtown this evening. Preliminary information indicates two people were injured during this incident. Unfortunately, one of them succumbed to their injuries after being transported to the hospital.

Spokane Police arrested Colin L. Pedro, 20, and charged him with 2nd Degree Murder and several assault-related offenses following a stabbing incident on August 7, 2025. Officers were dispatched to reports of a fight near the 800 block of west Spokane Falls Blvd, where they found a male on the Post Street Bridge threatening suicide. Another male sustained serious injuries and later died at a hospital. The surviving victim, who is expected to recover, was in a dating relationship with Pedro, though the relationship between Pedro and the deceased remains unclear.

Police deployed multiple resources, including a SWAT team, to manage the situation on the bridge. Authorities confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the community while the investigation is underway.
