Tragic mishap on an electric scooter leads to a collision, resulting in the death of an adult male

On July 19, 2025, a male passenger fell from an electric scooter in Spokane and was struck by a semi-truck, resulting in his death. The accident occurred around 2:20 a. m. while the scooter was traveling north on Division Street. The driver of the semi-truck stopped and attempted to render aid, while emergency responders also tried life-saving measures.

Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Investigators found no signs of impairment from the truck driver, who cooperated fully with law enforcement. The scene was secured for several hours as officials conducted a thorough investigation. Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the deceased later. This incident highlights ongoing safety concerns regarding electric scooters on public roadways.
