Projects will impact traffic starting July 21

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane will see significant traffic disruptions starting July 21 due to two construction projects. The South Freya St. project involves replacing over 3,000 feet of water main between 13th Ave. and 21st Ave. , including street surface repairs and ADA-compliant curb ramps, with an expected completion by late October.

Motorists will face closures and detours utilizing Hartson Ave. , South Ray St. , and East 29th Ave. Local access will be maintained for residents, emphasizing the need for caution and support for nearby businesses. Concurrently, the South Lincoln St.

project focuses on rehabilitating swale plantings, with crews replacing existing plants on both sides of the street throughout the summer. Flaggers will manage traffic during this intermittent work, with potential delays. Pedestrian detours will be in effect when sidewalks are obstructed, and alternative routes include High Drive and Bernard St. These projects aim to enhance local infrastructure and community safety.
