Projects will impact traffic starting July 21

Spokane, WALocal News

Starting July 21, two construction projects will significantly affect traffic in Spokane. South Freya St. will close between 13th Ave. and 21st Ave. as crews replace over 3,000 feet of water main and repair street surfaces.

The project also includes the installation of ADA-compliant curb ramps and coordination with utility services to minimize disruptions. On South Lincoln St. , swale plantings will be rehabilitated on both sides, with work occurring intermittently throughout the summer. Flaggers will direct traffic when necessary, and delays are expected during this time. Alternate routes include High Drive and Bernard St.

, with pedestrian detours implemented when sidewalks are obstructed. Local access will remain for residents, and the Freya St. project is expected to finish by late October. Motorists are advised to plan ahead, allow extra time, and support local businesses during this necessary work.
