Tragic mishap on an electric scooter leads to a collision, resulting in the death of an adult male

Two males riding an electric scooter lost control near Division and Dalton in Spokane, resulting in a tragic accident on July 19, 2025, at 2:20 AM. The rear passenger fell into the roadway and was struck by a northbound semi-truck. Emergency responders, including Spokane Fire, attempted life-saving measures, but the passenger died at the scene. The semi-truck driver remained cooperative and displayed no signs of impairment during the investigation. Law enforcement closed the area for several hours to gather evidence.

The incident underscores the dangers of riding electric scooters on sidewalks, particularly in busy areas. The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will later release the identity of the deceased. Local authorities urge the community to report any non-emergency incidents via Crime Check.
