Projects will impact traffic starting July 21

Spokane, WALocal News

Spokane will begin two major construction projects on July 21, significantly affecting local traffic. The South Freya St. project aims to replace over 3,000 feet of aging water main between 13th Ave. and 21st Ave. , with work expected to conclude in late October.

Motorists can expect closures and detours via Hartson Ave. , South Ray St. , and East 29th Ave. Local access for residents will be maintained during this period. Concurrently, the project on South Lincoln St.

focuses on rehabilitating swale plantings, with work occurring intermittently throughout the summer. Flaggers will be present to manage vehicle traffic when necessary, resulting in possible delays. Pedestrian detours will also be implemented when sidewalks are obstructed by construction activities. The city urges motorists to allow extra travel time and support nearby businesses impacted by these essential upgrades.
