Tragic mishap on an electric scooter leads to a collision, resulting in the death of an adult male

An electric scooter accident in Spokane resulted in the death of a male passenger after he fell into the roadway and was struck by a semi-truck on July 19, 2025, at approximately 2:20 AM. The scooter was traveling northbound near Division and Dalton when the passenger lost balance, leading to the tragic incident. Emergency responders, including Spokane Fire, arrived on the scene but were unable to save the victim's life. The semi-truck driver, who stopped to assist, showed no signs of impairment and complied with police inquiries. The investigation required the closure of the area for several hours.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office is tasked with releasing the identity of the deceased. Electric scooter safety has become a growing concern in urban areas, prompting discussions about regulations and rider safety. This incident highlights the potential dangers associated with electric scooters on public roadways.
