Projects will impact traffic starting July 21

Spokane, WALocal News

Starting July 21, two significant construction projects will disrupt traffic on South Freya St. and South Lincoln St. in Spokane. The South Freya St. project aims to replace over 3,000 feet of aging water main while also addressing street surface repairs and installing ADA-compliant curb ramps.

Motorists will need to use Hartson Ave. , South Ray St. , and East 29th Ave. as detours, as South Freya St. will be entirely closed to traffic until late October.

Meanwhile, the South Lincoln St. project will rehabilitate swale plantings on both sides of the street, with work scheduled intermittently throughout the summer. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic during peak times, and pedestrians will face detours when sidewalks are obstructed. Local residents will continue to have access to their properties throughout the construction period. The city encourages motorists to plan ahead and support local businesses affected by the necessary work.

Up-to-date obstruction information can be found on the city's construction webpage.
